If you have downloaded Inkscape before and are updating the software, be sure to uninstall the previous version before downloading a new install.

Installing Inkscape on the Linux Terminal
Once you have downloaded the correct version of the software, simply click on the download to launch and follow the instructions in the pop-up to complete the installation. Once it is complete, the app icon should appear in your menu when selected and upon launching, opens the main page.
